Got Questions?

Here's a list of questions we get asked a lot. If you can't find the answer you're after, please don't hesitate to call us on 1300-462-224 and we'll be happy to help.

Spring water has been getting a lot of bad press of late. Is it still ok to drink spring water?
Yes. Spring water itself is not a risk to the environment. What has been questioned is the way spring water has been packaged in polycarbonate bottles and also tap water being passed off or sold for the same amount of money as spring water.
Consumer demand for spring water has not dropped and in some areas its actually increased due to questionable quality and additives to tap water. It's up to us to find a better way to consume spring water and ensure its packaging is recyclable.

What is Bispehenol A (BPA) and is it safe?
Although currently used in many countries its use is being reviewed due to the possibility that BPA leaches into containers and cans. For more detail information visit News page.

What if I'm signed up with another company?
At Spring in a Bag we try to make things easier. If you would like to end your agreement with a current supplier, give us a call or speak to our sales representative about how we can help streamline this for you – 1300 462 224.

Why is spring water better for you?
It has no calories and is the true healthy alternative to sugar-filled soft drinks. Spring water is also free from additives such as chlorine, fluoride and ammonia. So it not only tastes as fresh and clean as the mountain spring where it is sourced, it's also free from treatment chemicals and preservatives.

Where does the water come from?
Our spring water comes from our own farm in the mountains of Ravensbourne, 120kms from Brisbane, which we have owned and managed for over 15 yrs. Read more on the Our Water page.

Is Spring in a Bag recyclable and how do I dispose of it?
Yes. Both the inner and outer bag are recyclable. Once your bag is empty you can simply dispose of it into your recycling bin. Or collect your empty bags near where our delivery driver drops your deliveries and we'll ensure the bags are properly recycled.
We are also working on a degradable bag for the future.

Why don't you have a biodegradable bag now?
We would like to, however the make up the biodegradable plastics bags we've tested do not have the same integrity or strength as the plastic we currently use. Finding a biodegradable solution is really important to us so watch this space!

Do you provide a recycling service for the bag?
Yes. Our driver can pick up all your used bags which we will collect and send straight to our recycling partner.

How are you more efficient when transporting your water?
There are a number of ways. Firstly, as our bags are square we can fit them onto pallets, allowing us to load more of them then if they were 15L bottles. This means the truck doesn't need to return to the depot as often. Secondly, we don't have to waste fuel picking up empty bottles. Our bags aren't washed with harmful chemicals for reuse like bottles.

How much does a cooler cost to run?
Our coolers use as much energy as a standard light bulb with the cost of about 5c per day.

Why is your water more hygienic than bottled water?
Polycarbonate bottle systems rely on sucking air in to dispense the water out. If there are nasties in the air, these are sucked into the bottle and can mix with the water inside the bottle, contaminating the water you're going to drink!

Spring in a Bag's revolutionary dispensing relies on gravity to extract water. As the bag holds the water in place over an airtight seal, our water remains free from harmful outside bacteria.

Is there a used by date?
Yes. You'll find the best before date printed on the inner bag. It's 12 months from the date it's packaged.

How much water do I need to drink?
The average recommended amount of spring water is 6 glasses a day or about 2 litres - http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/water/NU00283

How is Spring in a Bag packaged?
Spring in a Bag has two bags. The outer bag ensures the second inner bag is hygienically packed and not exposed to environmental factors such as dust in transport. This also helps keep the inside of your dispenser clean.

How do I put the bag into the converter?
Check out our demonstration video on How It Works page or have a read through the instructions below:
 It's easy!

1) Tear along the corner tabs where marked and remove the outer bag. The outer bag contains the Spring in a Bag logo.

2) Gently place the corners of the inner bag into your Spring in a Bag dispenser. Ensure that the centre seam of the inner bag is running horizontally, forming an "H" with the outer seams of the bag.

Do I have to rent the cooler?
No. You have the choice to buy the cooler outright, go on a monthly plan or pay rental fees upfront.

What if my rented cooler breaks down?
As part of the rental agreement, we will gladly replace a faulty cooler as soon as possible.

Do I have a choice of colours for my cooler?
At the moment all our coolers are stainless steel. We are hoping to offer white as an option in future.

Currently we carry 10 and 11 litre bags.
